Davis and Elkins College Athletics

Steve Meddings, a 1994 graduate of Davis & Elkins College with a B.S. in Chemistry, made a significant impact on the college's athletics. As a member of the cross-country, tennis, and basketball teams, Steve earned numerous accolades, including being named the 1994 Davis & Elkins Athlete of the Year. A three-time WVIAC Conference Champion and Runner of the Year in cross country, Steve was also a four-time NAIA National Qualifier. His leadership extended beyond D&E, as he grew the Pacer Youth Track Club in Pittsburgh, PA, from six runners to over 150, coaching several athletes to state and national championships and earning recognition as the USATF Three Rivers Coach of the Year in 2016.

Beyond athletics, Steve has been a dedicated educator, teaching Chemistry and Physics at Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh since 2011. He earned a Master's Degree in Teaching from Waynesburg University and has led his students to notable achievements, including top 10 finishes in the National Science Bowl and success in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science. Steve continues to run competitively and serve in leadership roles within the USA Track & Field community. He resides in Pittsburgh with his wife of 27 years and their two children.
