Davis and Elkins College Athletics

The 1970 Davis & Elkins men’s soccer team secured the program’s second NAIA national championship in just three years, reaffirming the Senators’ place among the nation’s elite. Guided once again by Head Coach Greg Myers, D&E capped off another outstanding season with a 2–0 victory over Quincy (IL) in the national final.

Mike Udolfian opened the scoring late in the third period, then assisted Bob Pigian just a minute later to seal the championship. The Senators’ path to the title featured impressive regular-season wins over West Virginia, Trenton State, and Howard, showcasing their balance of discipline, skill, and determination.

With their second national crown, the 1970 team cemented Davis & Elkins College as a national powerhouse and carried forward the legacy of excellence established just two years earlier.
