Recruiting Checklist

Here is a list of items that will help streamline the process of joining Senator Nation and becoming a student-athlete at D&E.

NCAA Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete

  1. Apply to Davis & Elkins College 
  2. Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center at the end of your junior year of high school.
     
  3. Provide your NCAA ID number to your prospective coach.
     
  4. Send a current copy of official, sealed transcripts to:
    a. Davis & Elkins College
        Attn: Admissions
        100 Campus Drive
        Elkins, WV 26241
    b. NCAA Eligibility Center
         i. Request that your guidance counselor sends a copy of your final transcripts.  High schools now have the capability to upload transcripts
            directly to a student's account from the High School Portal.  It's free and easy!  As with other electronic transcript providers, this process is
            much quicker than using the U.S. Postal Service or any overnight delivery method.  When transcripts are uploaded directly to a student's
           account, the NCAA Eligibility Center has near real time access to the transcript!

  5. Send official SAT (www.collegeboard.com) and/or ACT (www.ACTstudent.org) scores to:
    a. Davis & Elkins College
         i. SAT 5151
         ii. ACT 4518
    b. NCAA Eligibility Center
         i. SAT 9999
         ii. ACT 9999
     
  6. Complete the FAFSA
    a. Before October of senior year
         i. Quick tool to estimate amount of eligibility for federal/state aid. 
    b. October of senior year
         i. File FAFSA.
              1. D&E Code is 003811
     
  7. Schedule appointment to visit campus and possibly tryout/workout with prospective coach (Per NCAA Rules).
    a. Contact the prospective coach to get required tryout/workout paperwork
         i. Tryout Form
         ii. Copy of physical current within 6 months or your latest high school physical is acceptable if done within the last year.
         iii. Sickle Cell Form (attached to tryout form)
         iv. Copy of Insurance Card

    b. Must be in NCAA Eligibility Center system to participate in tryout/workout.

  8. April 1st of your senior year, log onto NCAA Eligibility Center and complete amateurism questions.
     
  9. End of your senior year, send final official, sealed transcripts to:
    a. Davis & Elkins College
        Attn: Admissions
