THE OPENING TIP  
Concluding its three-game homestand on Saturday afternoon, Davis & Elkins women's basketball is back on the court against West Virginia Wesleyan at 2:00 PM. The Senators have posted back-to-back home wins this week, coming against Alderson Broaddus and Fairmont State. Meanwhile, West Virginia Wesleyan is looked to end a 12-game losing streak and post its first win since November.

  • How It Happened: A second half barrage of points helped WV Wesleyan push past Davis & Elkins, 89-64, on Tuesday, January 26. Stephanie Wooten poured in a team-high 20 points and added five assists in 35 minutes for the Senators.
  
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES
  • After previously losing the conference opener to Fairmont State, the Senators exacted revenge with their 64-48 home victory last Wednesday. D&E held Fairmont State, which entered the game ranked in the top-10 nationally in scoring offense, to its lowest output of the season.
  • Davis & Elkins notched a season-best +38 rebounding margin against the Falcons last time out. The Senators have outrebounded their last two opponents by a combined 105-43 (+62).
  • Jamiyah Johnson continues to lead the nation in offensive rebounding average (6.4) and ranks second in rebounding average (14.2). She is fourth in the league in scoring average at 19.9 points/game.
  • Johnson is tied for second in the nation with 14 double-doubles to her credit this season.
  • Sydney Nestor eight or more points in seven consecutive games. She notched her 50th career assist with four against Fairmont State.
  • Peyton Mohler has notched 11 points in three of the last four games, adding 16 rebounds over that span.
  • Abbie Bartenslager has worked her way into the starting lineup in each of the last two games. She becomes the eighth different player to start a game for D&E this season.

SCOUTING WV WESLEYAN
  • Three players reached double figures, but WV Wesleyan fell at home to Frostburg State (73-57) last time out.

  • The Bobcats' last win came against Frostburg State, 51-49, on November 23.
