Continuing a busy stretch of games this week, Davis & Elkins hops back into conference play for a Wednesday evening contest with Fairmont State inside the McDonnell Center. D&E closed nonconference play with an 84-66 win against Alderson Broaddus, while Fairmont State begins this week of conference road matchups following a 71-66 triumph against Wheeling. Wednesday marks the second meeting between the two squads this season.

- How It Happened: Davis & Elkins fell victim to a hot-shooting Fairmont State squad in a 97-60 loss to the Falcons to begin Mountain East Conference (MEC) play last November at Joe Retton Arena. Sydney Nestor had a team-high 13 points in 27 minutes for D&E.
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES
- Davis & Elkins posted its highest rebounding margin of the season (+24) in its victory against Alderson Broaddus on Monday evening. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Senators.
- Jamiyah Johnson locked up her 11th consecutive double-double with 26 points and 15 rebounds (nine offensive) last time out against the Battlers. She is currently third in the nation in rebounding average (14.2) and leads all of DII men's and women's basketball in offensive rebounding average (6.4).
- With 13 double-doubles to her credit, Johnson is one of four players tied for second in the nation in that category, just one behind the nation's leader (Danielle Norquest, West Florida; 14).
- Johnson is third in the nation and first in the league with 142 field goals made. She is converting 58% of her shots this season.
- Jessica Eadsforth-Yates was just two points shy of a career-high with 15 against AB. She converted on 3-of-7 three-point field goals on Monday, her ninth game making two or more.
- Jay Kilpatrick passed out five assists with no turnovers last time out against Alderson Broaddus, adding to her team-high 38 assists this season.
- Peyton Mohler has scored 11 points in two of the last three games for the Senators. She had 12 points, two rebounds and three assists in the team's first meeting of the year with the Falcons on November 23.
- Nestor is second on the team in scoring at just ender 10 points/game, one of three Senators to average around nine points/game.
SCOUTING FAIRMONT STATE
- Fairmont State held off Wheeling for a 71-66 win last Saturday, powered by four players in double figures. Wheeling outscored Fairmont 21-10 in the fourth quarter, but the Falcons were able to preserve their 18-point second half lead.
- The Falcons enter Wednesday in sixth place in the MEC standings with a 6-4 conference mark, tied with Urbana.
- The Falcons take care of the ball, ranking 21st nationally in assist-turnover ratio (1.17) and 16th in fewest turnovers (210).
- Brooke Kurucz reached the 1,000-point plateau with her 16 points in the victory against the Cardinals. She is one of four players to average double digits in scoring for Fairmont State this season at 12.4 points/game.
- The Falcons put together arguably their most complete effort of the season in the team's first meeting with D&E last November, employing a stifling defense that led to easy shots at the other end of the floor. Fairmont State forced 18 D&E turnovers and got 24 points from Kamrin Weimer.
- Sierra Kotchman averages a team-high 20.0 points/game and ranks second on the team in rebounding average (4.8).
- Stephanie Anderson was elevated to the program's head coach after spending five years as an assistant coach for the Falcons.
