Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins College women's soccer fell 1-0 to Frostburg State on Wednesday evening at Nuttall Field in Mountain East Conference play.
The Bobcats scored the lone goal of the match in the 24th minute when Morgan Mrizek found the back of the net, and that proved to be the difference.
Goalkeeper Gabriela Acevedo kept the Senators within striking distance, recording six saves on the night. Frederique Morin and Sophia Brown each registered two shots to lead the D&E attack, while Catalina Salas added a shot on goal.
The Senators (0-6-4, 0-5-3 MEC) generated eight total shots and seven corner kicks but were unable to find an equalizer despite steady pressure throughout the second half.
Davis & Elkins will return to action on Saturday as part of Homecoming Weekend, hosting Salem University at 3 p.m. at Nuttall Field. The matchup will also serve as a celebration of the 25th year of women's soccer at Davis & Elkins College, honoring the legacy and growth of the program since its founding in 2000.
