Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. -- Originally scheduled to be played in Buckhannon, Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan faced off on Nuttall Field on the campus of Davis & Elkins College due to field issues at Wesleyan. The Senator women utilized a balanced attack and outscored the Bobcats 2-0.
Alexa Karsel once again found the back of the net with an unassisted goal in the first half. Karsel has six goals on the season.
The Senators' second goal came in the second half when Nao Kawasaki scored off a Sachiko Gamo assist.
D&E outshot Wesleyan 23-5, with seventeen of the shots coming in the first half. The Senators also outpaced Wesleyan in shots on goal with nine to the Bobcats' four.
Karsel added another shot on goal. Madison Rose, Azalea Ayala, Nao Kawasaki, Maria Leguizamon, Hope Osborn, and Madeline Veser also added shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Katie Clarke had a solid outing, with four saves.
Davis & Elkins improves to 4-2 and 3-2 in the Mountain East Conference while West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 1-6 overall and 1-4 in the MEC.
D&E plays Frostburg State next on Sunday, September 25 at home. The game will begin at 5pm.
