Senior Spotlight #19 Magallon

Elkins, W.Va. – The next senior we will shine a light one for this week is Macie Magallon. She is also a 5th year senior that transferred from Otero Junior College and graduated this fall with a degree in Exercise Science and minor in Athletic Training and Health. Magallon ended her college volleyball career with 1,681 Kills, 1,828 Points, and averaged 4.15 points a set throughout her career. At D&E she leads in three different categories in the Volleyball Program Records; Total Kills (1,046), Kills per Set (4.49), Points per Set (4.85). Magallon is also at 4th in Attack Percentage (.239%), 5th in Total Points (1,131), and Total Attacks (2,478). Her stats didn't just impact D&E volleyball records, in spring of 2021 she was 2nd in the Mountain East Conference for kills/set (4.52), points/set (5.06), and 10th in Hitting percentage (.286). She was awarded Offensive Player of the Week after the first week, then finished the spring season with being named 1st Team All-Conference. Magallon finished 8th that season in the NCAA Division II for kills/set and points/set, she was also 97th in Hitting Percentage. In fall of 2021, Magallon lead the DII Nation and MEC in kills/set (5.03) and in points/set (5.53). She received awards for 1st Team All-Conference and DII CCA All-Atlantic Region 2nd Team. In her last season at D&E she finished 2nd in the MEC in kills/set (4.02) and 4th in points/set (4.20). She was also 24th in the NCAA DII for kills/set, 34th in total kills (414), and 46th in points/set. Coach Willis says, "Macie was a dominant power player for us. She was so physical I am sure she scared many defenders. When she transferred in she was real quiet and didn't talk much, but over the years I have gotten to know her and our relationship has ever grown. She has set marks in D&E volleyball record books that will be hard to beat and even set marks as the top kills and points leader in 2021. As proud of her as a player, I am more proud of her as a person. I know she is head to do more great things."
