ELKINS, W. Va. -- In their final home game of the season, the Davis & Elkins College women's volleyball team put up a strong fight but ultimately fell to Concord in four sets (24-26, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25) at the McDonnell Center on Tuesday night. The match was close throughout, with the Senators nearly clinching the first set.
Melisa Ozsar led the offensive effort with 18 kills, while
Christine Rangel contributed 16 kills and
Haylie Marumoto tallied 50 assists and 12 digs.
Clara Caralt also had a solid defensive performance with 15 digs. Reanne Debose added a double-double, with 11 kills and 10 digs.
Despite their determined play, the Senators were unable to overcome Concord's defense, which logged 12 blocks. Davis & Elkins, now 7-16 overall and 3-12 in the Mountain East Conference (MEC), will wrap up their season on Friday, Nov. 16, against West Virginia Wesleyan College at 7:00 p.m.
