INSTITUTE, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins College volleyball team was swept in straight sets by West Virginia State University on Friday afternoon at the Walker Convocation Center, falling 25-13, 25-12, 25-18.
Leading the Senators offensively, Gracjana Rozanska recorded six kills on a .250 hitting percentage, while also contributing two blocks. Reanne Debose added six kills and one service ace, bringing her point total to 7.0 for the match.
Setter Haylie Marumoto tallied 14 assists, setting up key attacks for D&E, and registered four digs in a strong defensive showing. Libero Clara Caralt led the defense with nine digs.
Despite these efforts, the Senators struggled with errors throughout the match, finishing with a team hitting percentage of -.047. The loss drops Davis & Elkins to 7-15 on the season and 2-11 in the Mountain East Conference.
