ELKINS, W.Va. — The University of Charleston defeated Davis & Elkins volleyball in three sets, winning 25-14, 25-9, and 25-21, in a Mountain East Conference match at the McDonnell Center. With the loss, the Senators fell to 7-14 overall and 3-10 in conference play.
Reanne Debose led D&E with 10 kills, while setter Haylie Marumoto tallied 24 assists. The Senators struggled with a .109 hitting percentage overall, compared to Charleston's efficient .390 mark. Charleston's Emma Shepherd and Patrycja Majos each contributed 7 kills, helping the Golden Eagles secure their 10th conference win.
Charleston's strong defensive play was evident, with 34 digs and 6 blocks, compared to the Senators' 21 digs and 2 blocks.
