BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins volleyball received two first team selections and added another to the second team as the Mountain East Conference (MEC) announced its top honors and all-conference teams for the spring 2021 season.
Macie Magallon and
Brilane Manchego were named First Team All-MEC selections and
Molly Jandris landed on the Second Team for the Senators.
Fairmont State's Julia DiPaoloa and West Virginia State's Jenna Dufresne earned Player of the Year accolades, Wheeling's Audrey Francis was tabbed as the Libero of the Year and teammate Karly Niesen was selected as the Freshman of the Year. Additionally, Fairmont State head coach Courtney Materazzi was recognized as the Coach of the Year to round out the top honors.
Magallon finished the season second in the MEC in kills/set (4.52) and 10th in hitting percentage (.286). Manchego helped facilitate the offense, ranking third in assists/set (10.24). Jandris concluded her first season with the Senators with 2.83 kill/set and 102 kills in 10 matches.
The all-conference trio helped Davis & Elkins to a 9-3 overall record, undefeated home season and trip to the MEC Semifinals for first-year head coach
Jordan Willis.
The All-MEC teams are selected by a vote of the league's coaches.
