Davis & Elkins women's basketball returns home to take on Concord inside the McDonnell Center on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff for the contest is set for 2:00 PM and will be streamed live on the Mountain East Conference Digital Network.
 
The Senators, looking to battle back from a 123-82 defeat to Glenville State on Wednesday, will be home for two straight matchups. Concord enters with two consecutive victories, most recently a 74-61 home triumph against West Virginia Wesleyan.

- How It Happened: A back-and-forth game between Davis & Elkins and Concord produced a thrilling finish, but Concord took a late lead and held on to win, 69-66, inside the McDonnell Center.
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES
	- Jamiyah Johnson surpassed the 800-career rebounding mark on Wednesday. She is 21 rebounds shy of tying Jorden Lykes (822) for second in D&E history.
- Following another double-double effort, Johnson is closing in on 1,000 career points. She enters Saturday with 941 career points after notching 20 (10-12 FG) earlier this week.
- Davis & Elkins got off to a torrid start offensively against Glenville State, flipping the script from the first outing of the season. In total, the Senators went 54.4% from the floor against the Pioneers.
- The Senators received contributions from throughout the lineup on Wednesday night as 11 players found their way into the scoring column. While early, this has been a theme for first-year head coach Rachel Swartz.
- Amiah Banks notched her second consecutive double figure outing to begin her D&E career. Currently second on the team in scoring (12.0 PPG), Banks dropped in 14 points and added two boards and three assists.
- D&E enters Saturday shooting 44.9% from the floor, 40% from three and 74.1% from the line as a unit.
- Brooklyn Maxwell leads the team with 27.5 minutes/game, one of four players on the squad to log 20 minutes or more. Maxwell averages 8.5 points and 3.5 rebounds/game.
- Marissa Berlin continues to develop as a viable inside presence for the Senators. In limited action, Berlin is shooting 54.5% from the floor and ranks second on the team in rebounding average (5.5).
- Allie Taylor has provided a reliable scoring touch off the bench for D&E, averaging 7.5 points/game. She is also tied for second on the team with six assists.
  
SCOUTING CONCORD
	- After suffering a defeat to open the 2021 season, Concord looks to push its winning streak to three-straight when it travels to Elkins on Saturday afternoon.
- Concord pulled away in the second half during its 74-61 home win against West Virginia Wesleyan on January 13. The Mountain Lions outscored the Bobcats 42-33 in the final 20 minutes while also limited WVWC to just five points in the second quarter.
- Concord is led statistically by the duo of Riley Fitzwater (20.7 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 5.67 BPG) and Maggie Guynn (15.0 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 2.67 APG).
- Fitzwater has blocked 17 shots in just three games, entering sixth nationally and first in the nation in blocks/game. She had eight rejections in 34 minutes against West Virginia State on January 10.
- Head coach Kenny Osborne is in his 21st season at Concord, compiling over 290 wins during his tenure. He's helped Concord to consecutive seasons of 20 victories.
