THE OPENING TIP  
Davis & Elkins is back home for the first time in nearly a month, welcoming the Golden Eagles of Charleston, who have the conference's longest winning streak with eight games. Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM from the McDonnell Center as the Senators will look to avenge a narrow 103-101 defeat against West Virginia State last time out.

DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES
  • Jamiyah Johnson registered her third 30-point effort of the season last time out, collecting a career-high 31 points to go along with 21 rebounds against WV State. Johnson is second in the nation in rebounding average (14.3 RPG) and has collected nine double-doubles this season.
  • With her most recent outing, Johnson has logged over 500 points and 500 rebounds for her career.
  • Set to face Charleston for the first time since 2012, D&E will look for its second straight victory against the Golden Eagles. Jorden Lykes had a double-double behind a game-high 16 points and 11 rebounds in the road triumph.
  • D&E is 11th nationally with 16.8 offensive rebounds per game.
  • Jessica Eadsforth-Yates had an efficient outing for the Senators against the Yellow Jackets, dropping in a career-high 17 points and six rebounds. The junior guard also added four assists and no turnovers.
  • The Senators are in search of their first victory inside the McDonnell Center since December 4 against Wheeling.
  • Jay Kilpatrick had several key shots in the fourth quarter last time out, finishing with 13 points in 23 minutes. Kilpatrick has registered double figures in each of the last three games.
  • Rebounding continues to be a strong suit in the Senators' game this season as the team ranks first in the league and 28th nationally with a +8.5 rebounding margin.
  • Sydney Nestor was just one point shy of a career-high with 14 points against West Virginia State.
  • Rachel Bolyard made her first career start last Wednesday against the Yellow Jackets, logging 16 minutes, the most since December 7 against West Liberty.
  
SCOUTING CHARLESTON (W. VA.)
  • Charleston (W. Va.) notched a resounding 67-point victory against West Virginia Wesleyan last time out on January 8. In total, the Golden Eagles have outscored their last two opponents by a combined 102 points (176-74).
  • The victory over WV Wesleyan was the largest margin (67 points) for Charleston since the 2009 campaign.
  • Anna Hayton is fourth in the conference and 14th nationally in scoring average (20.2 PPG). Charleston leads the league in scoring defense, allowing just 61.2 points/game.
  • The Golden Eagles have held three of their last four opponents to under 50 points.
  • Becky Burke is in her second season as the head coach of the Golden Eagles, guiding Charleston to a second-place finish in the MEC during the 2018-19 campaign.
