AROUND THE LEAGUE
DAVIS & ELKINS NOTES
  • D&E dropped a pair of games last week, losing to Clarion (90-65) and Fairmont State (97-60) on the road.
  • Tuesday will be the first all-time meeting between the two sides.
  • Jamiyah Johnson battled foul trouble against the Falcons, recording four points in nine minutes. Her previous outing netted her a second consecutive game with 20 or more points as she recorded her second double-double of the year.
  • Johnson has been a force inside all year long and is efficient offensively, shooting 60.3% from the floor.
  • Sydney Nestor led the Senators with 13 points against Fairmont, while Peyton Mohler added 12 points.
  • Nestor and Johnson are two of the three Senators to average double figures, along with Jay Kilpatrick (11.2 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 11 assists).
  • Davis & Elkins enters the game out-rebounding its opponents, but has struggled in the turnover department. The Senators have a -9.2 turnover margin and average 22.0 turnovers/game.
  • Nestor (6-11 3FG) and Jessica Eadsforth-Yates (5-22 3FG) are the Senators top threats from beyond the arc.

SCOUTING FROSTBURG
  • Frostburg had a chance to tie the game as time expired, but could not convert in a tough 51-49 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan last time out. Amanda Emory paced the Bobcats with 15 points and nine boards.
  • The Bobcats join the Mountain East Conference for their first season after competing in the tough Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) at the NCAA DIII level. Featuring several ranked squads on a perennial basis, the Bobcats earned a spot in the conference tournament last season, losing a 65-54 overtime game to Mary Washington.
  • Graduate guard Victoria Diggs brings plenty of experience to the Frostburg lineup, averaging 10.8 points/game. A 1,000-point scorer in her career, Diggs also leads the team with nine steals this season.
  • Frostburg will be tested in more ways than one in its first year as a member of NCAA DII. The Bobcats will not play a true home game until late January as their home arena receives renovations that include a new playing surface.
