ELKINS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins men's golf team placed third at the Mountain East Conference Spring Classic, held April 7–8 at Oglebay Resort's Arnold Palmer Course in Wheeling, West Virginia.
The Senators finished the two-round event at +8 overall, posting rounds of +8 and even-par in the final round to secure a top-three finish among a competitive field of conference programs. Glenville State claimed the team title at -4, followed by California (Pa.) at +4.
Lucio Pavicich led the way for Davis & Elkins, tying for second place individually with a two-round total of 138 (-4). Pavicich carded rounds of 69 and 69 to finish four strokes under par for the tournament.
Isaac Gregson delivered a strong final round to climb the leaderboard, shooting a 68 (-3) in round two after opening with a 76. Gregson finished the event tied for 10th overall at +2.
Leonardo Turra also contributed for the Senators, finishing tied for 15th with a total score of 145 (+3). Turra shot rounds of 72 and 73 during the tournament.
Hugo Mayorga posted rounds of 75 and 74 to finish tied for 31st at +7, while Samuel Rached rounded out the Davis & Elkins lineup with scores of 78 and 79, placing 72nd overall.
The Senators will return to action April 20–21 when they compete in the Bedford Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, Pennsylvania.
