BELLE VERNON, Pa. — The Davis & Elkins College men's and women's golf teams competed at the Vulcan Invitational Sept. 3-4 at Cedarbrook Golf Course, hosted by California (Pa.). The tournament was shortened to 36 holes after thunderstorms forced the cancellation of the final round.

Men's Golf

The Davis & Elkins men's golf team finished fifth in the team standings with a two-round score of 590, finishing at 14-over par.

Lucio Pavicich led the Senators, finishing tied for fifth individually at 3-under par with a two-round score of 141. Pavicich opened the tournament with a 69 before carding a 72 in the second round.

Isaac Gregson finished tied for 19th at 4-over par with a 148, while Santiago Dedyn placed tied for 25th at 5-over par with a 149. Justin Charlebois finished tied for 41st at 8-over par with a 152, and Hugo Mayorga rounded out the team with a 156, finishing 12-over par.

West Liberty finished second at 3-over par, while Fairmont State and California (Pa.) B tied for third at 5-over par. California (Pa.) A won the team title at 9-under par.

Women's Golf

The D&E women's golf team competed with three golfers and did not record a team score at the Vulcan Invitational.

Marina Saviceva-Noti led the Senators individually, finishing tied for 23rd with a two-round score of 165 at 23-over par. She opened with an 84 before improving to an 81 in the second round.

Laikyn Stevens finished with a two-round score of 210 at 68-over par, while Alexis Herndon posted a 218 at 76-over par.

West Chester won the women's team title at 43-over par, followed by Jefferson at 48-over par and Adelphi at 69-over par.
