Box Score 2 OWENSBORO, Ky. — The Davis & Elkins College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Friday at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational, falling to the University of Illinois Springfield, 3-0, before dropping a 3-0 decision to host Kentucky Wesleyan.
The Senators move to 0-6 on the season.

Davis & Elkins opened the day against Illinois Springfield, falling 25-15, 25-13 and 25-22.
Aliceya Ciftcioglu led the Senators with 10 kills and added 12 digs, two blocks and an ace. Alexandra Mattey recorded four kills, while Rylan Sharp added four kills.
Emily Besten paced the D&E offense with nine assists, followed by Liene Dujin with seven. Neve Norris led the defensive effort with 11 digs, while Ciftcioglu added 12.
The Senators finished the match with 25 kills, 24 assists, three aces, two blocks and 46 digs.
Kentucky Wesleyan 3, Davis & Elkins 0
D&E closed the day against Kentucky Wesleyan, falling 25-20, 25-18 and 25-16.
Kaylee Vanjo led the Senators with six kills while hitting .417 for the match. Sharp added five kills, and Ciftcioglu recorded four.
Jill Van Der Velde led D&E with nine assists, while Dujin contributed eight assists. Norris posted a team-high 11 digs, with Ciftcioglu adding six.
The Senators recorded 19 kills, 19 assists, five aces, four blocks and 34 digs against the Panthers.
