Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins College women's lacrosse team earned a dominant 21-5 road victory over Ferrum College Monday afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium. With the win, Davis & Elkins moves to 6-1 on the season.
The Senators scored early and often, building a commanding lead with an 11-goal first quarter and never looked back. Davis & Elkins finished with 39 shots and placed 20 on goal while eight different players scored in the victory.
Savannah Quave led the Senators with five goals, while Rylee Anderson recorded four goals and one assist. Morgan Rogers added two goals and three assists for five total points.
Davis & Elkins wasted little time taking control, scoring the game's first four goals before Ferrum got on the board midway through the opening quarter. Six different Senators found the back of the net as Davis & Elkins built an 11-1 lead after the first period.
The Senators extended their advantage in the second quarter. Quave scored twice in the frame while Malia Galan added a man-down goal as Davis & Elkins took a 14-2 lead into halftime.
Davis & Elkins maintained control throughout the second half, outscoring Ferrum 7-3 across the final two quarters. Anderson scored twice in the third period while Alexia Gonzales and Avelyn Anderson each added goals as the Senators continued to build their lead.
Additional goals for Davis & Elkins came from Izzie Sevila (two), Rogers (two), Galan (two), Stevens (two), Avelyn Anderson (two), Gonzales and Kylie Hammond.
The Senators controlled possession throughout the contest, winning 17 draw controls. Zoe Mackey contributed across the stat sheet with two assists, four ground balls and five draw controls, while Mackenzie Mullan added six draw controls.
In goal, Megan Bauer earned the win with seven saves in the first half. Daelyn Hardnack played the second half and recorded four saves.
Davis & Elkins returns home Sunday, March 22nd to face Frostburg State University in Mountain East Conference action. Opening draw is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Nuttall Field.
