Box Score BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Rylee Anderson scored a game-high seven goals and added an assist to lead the Davis & Elkins College women's lacrosse team to a dominant 20-6 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday evening at Ross Field.
The Senators (7-9, 2-4 MEC) jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, outshooting the Bobcats 52-17 and holding a 35-13 advantage in shots on goal.
Morgan Rogers fueled the offense with two goals and a game-high five assists. Ke'ya Stevens found the back of the net four times, including three goals in the second quarter alone. Ari Hinton chipped in two goals, while Izzie Sevila also added two tallies. Avelyn Anderson and Zoe Mackey rounded out the scoring for D&E with one goal apiece.
In the cage, Megan Bauer and Daelyn Hardnack split time, combining for seven saves. The Senators defense was anchored by Zoe Mackey, who collected four ground balls and caused five turnovers.
D&E capitalized on Wesleyan's penalties, scoring six goals on the player advantage. The Senators also forced 26 turnovers and held the hosts to just 9-of-19 on clear attempts.
