WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Davis & Elkins College baseball team dropped a 13-2 decision to Gannon University on Tuesday morning at Chain of Lakes Stadium as part of the RussMatt Invitational.

Gannon (3-4) used a four-run third inning to take control and never looked back, racking up 16 hits and capitalizing on two D&E errors. The Golden Knights added four more runs in the fifth, one in the eighth, and another four-run burst in the ninth to seal the win.

Davis & Elkins (1-8) was limited to five hits but broke through in the bottom of the ninth with two runs. Joseph De La Nuez and Mason Brenneman each scored, while Kelvin Probst drove in both runs with a two-RBI single.

Ethan Marshall (1-2) took the loss for Davis & Elkins, surrendering four runs on six hits over four innings while striking out four.

Davis & Elkins returns to action on Friday, March 7 as they continue play in the RussMatt Invitational.
