Swimming Teams Conclude With Solid Performance At G-MAC/MEC Championships

CANTON, Ohio – The Davis & Elkins College men's and women's swim teams wrapped up competition at the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC)/Mountain East Conference (MEC) Swimming Championships on Saturday at the C.T. Branin Natatorium.

Men's Highlights
Lasse Schrieken went out with another statement performance, claiming the MEC title in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing third with a time of 2:04.91, earning First-Team All-MEC honors and 27 points for the Senators.
Payton Williamson placed fourth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.24, breaking his own school record and securing Second-Team All-MEC honors and 26 points.
Elie Content added 11 points with a 16th-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (47.90).
Ricardo Salas placed 15th in the 1650-yard freestyle (19:50.81) to earn 12 points.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Spencer Willey, Williamson, Content, and Schrieken finished sixth in 3:15.34, contributing 48 points to the team total.

Women's Highlights
Julianne Hobson placed 20th in the 100-yard freestyle (54.74), earning five points.
Lauren Lockwood and Daphne McCann placed 20th (2:15.37) and 22nd (2:19.26) respectively in the 200-yard backstroke, contributing five and three points.
Maria Lugo finished 15th in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:37.11).
Savannah Foley led the Senators in the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing 18th (20:13.46) for seven points.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Foley, Becca Rodrigues, Hobson, and McCann placed eighth (3:48.45), adding 44 points.

Final Team Standings
The D&E men's team placed sixth with 514 points, narrowly surpassing Salem (500).
The D&E women's team finished seventh with 377 points, ahead of Salem (288) and Malone (278).
The University of Findlay claimed both men's and women's team titles, while Frostburg State secured the MEC men's and women's championships.
