WHEELING, W. Va. -- The Davis & Elkins College swimmers delivered strong performances in a meet against Wheeling, with several top finishes across various events.
The Davis & Elkins women's team started strong, capturing first in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:58.06. In the 500 Free, D&E swimmers claimed the top two spots, with Emily Durst clocking in at 5:58.35 for first, her first career individual win. She was followed by Emma Andrews at 6:19.02. Emily Durst also placed second in the 200 Free with a time of 2:11.58. In the women's 200 Fly, Lauren Lockwood (2:23.03) and Julianne Hobson (2:24.58) clinched the top two spots, showcasing their dominance. Additionally, Julianne Hobson won the 100 Fly in 1:03.36.
In the men's events, Davis & Elkins saw notable performances, including a second-place finish by the men's team in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:40.22. Edwin Li claimed first in the 100 Breast, finishing in 57.60, and also took the 200 Breast in 2:16.91. Payton Williamson won the 200 Back in a time of 1:57.45, and swam to second in both the 100 Back (54.45) and the 100 Fly (54.49).
The Davis & Elkins women wrapped up with a victory in the 400 Free Relay, finishing at 3:53.13, securing a strong conclusion to the meet.
