WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Davis & Elkins women's tennis team opened up their season with a pair of dual wins here on Tuesday.
D&E topped West Liberty 6-0 in the day's first match, and then took a 7-0 decision over tournament host Washington & Jefferson.
Fabienne Lahn,
Erin Laubscher,
Liebe Oosthuizen,
Karen Saucedo, and
Eloise Hutton each won two singles matches while
Emiliana Golac,
Lilly Wentzler, and
Leona Gemmel also contributed points for the Senators.
Lahn and Laubscher took turns at the top spot in singles, and both had strong performances. Lahn pulled out a 5-7, 7-6 (5), 10-7 win over WLU's Evelina Martirosyan in a 2-plus hour battle on court one. Laubscher then won her match against W&J with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 decision.
