Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College volleyball team fell in a tightly contested five-set match against Glenville State on Tuesday night at a raucous McDonnell Center. The crowd was electric at the Senators home opener, but the energy waned late as D&E dropped the match 3-2 (19-25, 25-16, 25-19, 19-25, 10-15), in a Mountain East Conference (MEC) showdown that saw multiple momentum swings and standout performances from both teams.
Reanne Debose led the way for the Senators (4-6, 0-2 MEC), recording 17 kills and 14 digs. Haylie Marumoto was a key playmaker with 44 assists and 18 digs. Clara Caralt added 13 kills, while Melisa Ozsar contributed 11 kills.
Glenville State (3-9, 1-1 MEC) came out strong in the decisive fifth set, capitalizing on early errors by D&E to get out to a 4-0 lead. The Senators attempted to mount a late comeback, closing the gap to 11-8, but the Pioneers held on to secure the victory.
