DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Davis & Elkins Men's and Women's Swim Teams head into Thanksgiving Break with wins at the 13th Corbier-Merion Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
The D&E women won three of the five relays contested and ten of fourteen individual events on their way to 1033 total points over two days of action. Wilmington College finished second with 772. Ohio Wesleyan was third with 685. Heidelberg (338), West Virginia Wesleyan (263), and Hanover (166) rounded out the scoring.
The Senator women were led by
Julianne Hobson, who won the 100 (59.07) and 200 (2:17.56) butterfly, and added a fifth-place finish in the 50 freestyle (25.72). Her time in the 100 butterfly was good for a new school record, bettering the old mark by 1.39 seconds.
Shelbey Fuller added wins in the 50 (25.52) and 100 (55.49) freestyle, and 200 breaststroke (2:27.91). She also added a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.86).
Byanna Gollmer had wins in the 500 (5:32.16) and 1650 (19:17.94) freestyle events and added third-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:07.36) and 200 backstroke (2:20.04).
Rebecca Rodrigues won the 200 IM in 2:16.84. She added a second-place finish in the 100 IM (1:04.68), a fifth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.35), and a sixth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2::41.62).
Savannah Foley added a win in the 100 backstroke (1:03.21), fourth-place finishes in the 100 freestyle (56.24) and 200 backstroke (2:22.26), and a seventh-place finish in the 50 freestyle (26.12).

McCann, Fuller, Hobson, and Foley combined to win the 200 medley relay in 1:53.89. The team of McCann, Fuller, Rodrigues, and Foley won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:47.36. McCann, Rodrigues, Fuller, and Gollmer added a win in the 400 medley relay in 4:14.54.
The D&E men won three of five relays and eight of the fourteen individual events contested. The Senators racked up 926.5 totals points to take the win. Wilmington College scored 701.5 to finish runner-up. Ohio Wesleyan was third with 609. Hanover College (260), West Virginia Wesleyan (193), and Heidelberg (98) rounded out the scoring.
Jakob Knoblauch's winning and school record time of 1:55.73 in the 200 butterfly highlighted individual performances.
D&E had a one-two finish in the 200 backstroke with
Payton Williamson (1:55.69) and
Geoff Dixon (1:57.95), the 400 individual medley with
Enrique Garcia (4:15.04) and Knoblauch (4:17.16), in the 200 butterfly with Knoblauch and Williamson (2:02.23), and in the 1650 freestyle with Knoblauch (16:53.29) and Williamson (17:34.91). D&E also had a one-three finish in the 100 breaststroke with Garcia (55.93) and
Edwin Li (56.76) and a two-three finish in the 200 breaststroke with Garcia (2:06.26) and Li (2:07.22).
Garcia added a win in the 200 individual medley with a winning time of 1:55.40.
Knoblauch also added a win in the 500 freestyle in 4:44.56.
Dixon added runner-up finishes in the 100 butterfly (52.83) and 200 backstroke (1:57.95), and a sixth-place finish in the 50 freestyle in 22.42.
Li added a runner-up finish in the 50 freestyle in 22.04 and a fourth-place finish in the 100 freestyle in 48.59.
Williamson added a fourth-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 53.33.
