Wrestlers Have Good Showing, Tarr Earns All-American Status

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Last season Coach Jerry Boland's Senator wrestling team qualified three wrestlers for the NCAA Championships.  This season D&E had three wrestlers qualify.  In 2021, the three wrestlers combined to win one match at nationals.  This year it was a different story.  Craig Cook, Vincent Scollo, and Noah Tarr combined to win five matches.

Scollo picked up a 7-4 win over Elijah Lusk of Lander.  Scollo dropped matches to Breyden Bailey (Indianapolis) 5-1 and Bryce Allison (Tiffin) 4-3.

Cook earned a 9-2 win over Demetri Teddlie (King).  He fell 3-2 to Logan Bailey (Indianapolis) and 9-4 to Dominic Means (Gannon).

Tarr had wins over Mason Boutain (San Francisco State) 3-2, Patrick Wunderlich (Coker) 3-1, and Braydon Huber (Mary) 7-5.  Tarr lost 7-3 to Dawson Combest (Indianapolis).  Tarr is guaranteed to finish between 3rd – 8th place giving him All-American status.  He is scheduled to take on Pitt Johnstown's Nathan Smith tomorrow.
