ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins freshman goalie
Marissa Cuevas added to her list of accolades for the women's lacrosse program, earning the number three spot on ESPN's weekly #LaxTop5 plays series following her diving stop against Charleston (W.Va.) earlier this season.
Each week during lacrosse coverage on ESPN, the network counts down the top plays from around college lacrosse across all divisions. Cuevas, the MEC Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year, raced back into her crease before sprawling to stop a shot attempt against Charleston back on April 14.
The Farmngville, N.Y. native earned First Team All-MEC honors, landing on the league's all-freshman team as well.
Davis & Elkins qualified for the playoffs for the first time since becoming members of the MEC with Cuevas playing every minute in goal, finishing the season with 139 saves.
