ELKINS, W.Va. — With one final opportunity to improve on times and seeding heading into the conference championships meet, Davis & Elkins swimming steamrolled an undermanned Alderson Broaddus squad on Friday night at Myles Pool.
D&E posted a 212-7 win on the men's side and the women's team picked up a 192-10 triumph. While the Senators swam well on Friday, the small roster size for both Battler teams weighed heavily into the final lopsided margin. D&E won each event on the night, making up the only team competing in several races.
Shelbey Fuller was part of four victories on the night, including the 200 medley relay (2:01.55), 100 breast (1:15.64), 100 fly (1:06.76) and 200 IM (2:37.88).
Enrique Garcia and
Jiwh Santos were also part of four wins on the night for the D&E men's team. The duo participated in the 200 medley relay, posting a time of 1:39.43. Additionally, Garcia finished first in the 100 breast (1:00.51), 200 breast (2:21.28) and 200 IM (2:06.64). Santos also had a strong outing, posting first-place times in the 100 back (56.32), 50 free (22.44) and 200 back (2:09.99).
Bryanna Gollmer had a pair of individual wins for D&E and
Casey Hayford added two victories of her own. For the men,
Nicholas Allen won the 100 free (50.86) and 100 fly (57.77).
Dru Mills posted two wins for the Senators in the 100 free (59.79) and 200 free (2:09.89).
The Senators will shift their focus to the 2021 GMAC/MEC Swimming Championships on March 31-April 2 in Ohio.
