Ester Bolmenas both had big days with wins in singles and doubles play as D&E dropped a tight match to Eckerd 5-2 on Friday afternoon. Bolmenas and Newman recovered from a slow start to rattle off six straight games for a 6-2 win at #1 doubles. Newman picked up a 6-0, 7-5 victory at #1 singles, while Bolmenas won 6-3, 6-4 at #3 singles.
Rosalie Naber came up just short in her matches, going the distance in a 1-6, 6-2, 10-8 loss at #4 singles, while teaming with
Laura Vargas in a tight 7-6 loss at #2 doubles.
