Coming off a split in their season-opening doubleheader against King and a rainout with Tusculum, the D&E softball team will play six games in three days in the Carolinas over the weekend. The Senators added the Friday doubleheader with Newberry following the washout in Tusculum, and will make the trip to take on St. Andrew's and Fayetteville State on Saturday and Sunday, a trip that saw a 4-0 weekend against the two teams in 2018.
The Senators tied the game up at two in the fifth inning against Tusclum before the game was ruled a no-contest.
Rhetta Persinger went 3-for-5 at the plate with a home run to lead D&E at the plate and
Ryn Boelter is also batting .400 with a 1-0 record in the circle.
