ELKINS, W.Va. — The Davis & Elkins College volleyball team dropped a four-set Mountain East Conference match to West Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1, Friday night inside the McDonnell Center.

The Senators fell 25-16 in the opening set before responding with a 25-17 victory in the second. West Virginia Wesleyan claimed the third set, 25-23, before closing out the match with a 25-20 fourth-set win.

Davis & Elkins finished the night with 44 kills and 10 service aces while hitting .147 as a team. The Senators also recorded 53 digs and 32 assists.

Aliceya Ciftcioglu led the Senators offensively with 15 kills while adding 16 digs. Khayla Garrett and Madison McGarry each contributed seven kills, while Braelyn Brenneman added six.

Liene Dujin recorded a team-high 28 assists and four service aces. Kaylee Vanjo added three aces, while Neve Norris finished with 11 digs and three assists.

West Virginia Wesleyan was led by MacKenna Halfin with 14 kills, while Bhrooke Axe added 13 kills and 19 digs. Emily Denison recorded 12 kills, 13 digs and two service aces.

The Senators return to action Tuesday, Sept. 22, hosting West Liberty at 7 p.m. inside the McDonnell Center.
