INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Davis & Elkins College men's lacrosse team was picked to finish fifth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour, the G-MAC announced Tuesday.
D&E received nine points, finishing ahead of Alderson Broaddus, whom the Senators defeated on a game-winning overtime goal last season. Mercyhurst was picked to finish first, receiving five of the six first-place votes and polling it at 25 points. The Senators host Mercyhurst on April 7th, and will open their season against the preseason #2 team, Seton Hill, on February 15th. The Griffins received the other first-place vote to measure 21 points. Lake Erie (16 points) and Walsh (14 points) follow in the poll.
D&E will look to combine youth and experience this upcoming season, returning two sophomores among their leading scorers in
Trevor Kennedy (19 goals) and
Nolan Morrison (16 goals), as well as senior
Matthew Dyck. On defense, senior
Jordan Waddell led the Senators with 43 ground balls, and
Michael Holstein will provide another veteran presence. The Senators will look to sophomore
