BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins' Jiwh Santos has been named Mountain East Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, and Mia Ellison was selected as the league's Women's Swimmer of the Week. 

Santos, a freshman from the Philippines, helped lead the Senators to a dual win over West Virginia Wesleyan over the weekend. He finished first in three events winning the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.46), the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.01) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.04). His time in the 200 breaststroke was a season-best. Santos has been awarded MEC Swimmer of the Week for the second time in his freshman campaign.

Ellison, a senior from Leander, Texas, won twice last week in her Senior Day dual meet against West Virginia Wesleyan. She won the 1,000 free with a time of 11:27.15, and doubled up with a win in the 500 free with a time of 5:41.3. She also added points with a fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:56.17). This is the first career Swimmer of the Week award for Ellison.

The D&E swim programs will return to the pool for their final dual meet of the season on Saturday, January 18th at 1:00 P.M. against Salem.
