ELKINS, W. Va. - Davis & Elkins swimming closed the home portion of its schedule with an MEC dual against West Virginia Wesleyan on Senior Day. The men's team emerged victorious, 116,-85, to remain perfect at home, while the women's team was dropped a 108-9 decision to the visiting Bobcats.

MEN
Senior swimmers
Gavin Burnham and
Chris Carter closed out their Myles Pool careers on Saturday with a 116-85 victory over the visiting West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats.
Carter finished 2nd in the 200-yard breaststroke event in 2:23.42, less than a second behind teammate
Jiwh Santos, who finished in 2:23.04.
Santos won three events during the meet, also taking first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.46) and 200-yard backstroke (2:05.01).
Ryan Clement was also a multiple event winner on the day, winning the 500-yard freestyle in 5:16.47 after taking first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:54.60.
Kamren McKinney-Lyons placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.54.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Payne McCann,
Lucas Sosa,
Bernardo Rodrigues, and
Kalvin Spells won their event in 1:40.54.
WOMEN
Five Senator swimmers were honored before the meet against West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday to celebrate their Senior Day at the Myles Pool.
Seniors
Jaime Boulier,
Emily Coleman,
Mia Ellison,
Victoria Fletcher and
Artemisa Gutierrez concluded their home careers in a narrow 105-98 defeat.
Ellison was a two-event winner on the day, taking first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:41.83), and 1000-yard freestyle (11:27.15).
Boulier came in second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:23.66), narrowly finishing behind teammate
Casey Hayford (2:23.13).
Hayford would also lead a 1-2 finish for the Senators in the 50-yard freestyle, edging teammate Nora Pierre by two-hundredths of a second.
Pierre would win the 100-yard freestyle in 57.12.

D&E will return to the pool on Saturday, January 18th, taking to the road to swim against Salem. The meet is scheduled for a 1 PM start.
