ELKINS, W.Va. - The Senators put in a good effort but were unable to stop Lake Erie College Saturday afternoon at Nuttall Field on their Senior Day. 

The last game of the season was a tough one for Davis & Elkins. The first quarter was when D&E challenged the Storm the most. The visitors scored the first two goals of the game but the Senators responded with Trevor Kennedy, the first one for Davis & Elkins. 

The visitors scored four more goals in the quarter but D&E got two more in. First, with Matt O'Dwyer, assisted by Kyle Durec, and the second one scored by Bobby Palermo, unassisted. 

D&E pushed closer on the scoreboard in the beginning of the second quarter. Aidan O'Dwyer, Ian Nelson, and George Sfarnas on a great shot from far, assisted by Clay Messinger, scored the three goals that cut the deficit to one point, making it 6-7. 

However, Lake Erie kept scoring and it was hard for D&E to follow them from then on. The Storm scored five goals in the second and five in the third quarter, increasing their advantage. 

D&E scored twice in the third period. Bobby Palermo scored his second goal in the game, followed by Bryce McBee, assisted by Durec.  

Things got worse for the Senators in the last quarter, when they could only score three more goals. Kennedy scored another one for D&E, and Matt Dyck scored twice. The Storms outscored D&E and closed the game at 11-22. 

The seniors Kyle Seago and Luke Norcross played one half each in goal. Seago counted ten saves in the first half while Norcross made eight stops in the second to close Davis & Elkins' season.
