Senator Student-Athletes dominated the Academic Awards and Recognition Convocation on Thursday, with Student-Athletes receiving 33 awards during the ceremony.
Student-athletes from nearly every sport on campus were represented, winning awards in nearly every department as well.
In Biology and Environmental Science, Bailey Aab of Women's Soccer and Kelly Smith of Volleyball received awards. Gavin Burnham of Men's Swimming won the Robert E. Urban Memorial Award.
In the Business and Entrepreneurship Department, Felix Buck-Gramcko (Men's Cross Country/Track & Field), Briana Hoffman (Volleyball), Matt Dyck (Men's Lacrosse), Toby Gibbons (Men's Golf), Logan Phillips (Men's Basketball), and Pedro Gaspar (Men's Swimming) all received awards.
Chris Berman of Men's Cross Country/Track & Field won a Chemistry award. Sydney Carter of Softball won the CRC Press Achievement Award in Chemistry, and Matthew Chapman of Men's Cross Country won the POLYED Undergraduate Award in Organic Chemistry.
Alyssa Jacobs of Women's Soccer and Skylee Watson of Women's Cross Country/Track & Field were Education Department award winners.
Caitlynn Guzman of Acrobatics & Tumbling was the receipient of the Tatiana Jardetzky Scholarship in Foreign Languages and Cultures.
Megan Augustine of Women's Cross Country/Track & Field won The Pendleton Prize in Theatre.
Ester Bolmenas of Women's Tennis was a recipient for History, while Ricard Castan (Men's Swimming) and David Magda (Men's Cross Country/Track & Field) were recipients in the Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics Department.
Cody Turner of Men's Tennis won the Dorothy F. Roberts Achievement Prize, while Ellie Rossiter (Women's Soccer) and Kyle Seago (Men's Lacrosse) were fellow award winners in Psychology & Human Services, Sociology & Criminology.
Sports Science was a clean sweep by the student-athletes, with Tessa Stewart of Women's Soccer winning The Minnick-McCoy Award.
Jade Allee (Softball), Tyler Twyman (Men's Basketball), Raleighanne Weaver (Volleyball), Taylor Drumm (Women's Soccer) and Nicole Armstrong and Kaylee Yergeau of Women's Basketball winning individual awards in Sports Science.
Kelsie Roby of Women's Triathlon and Kyle Seago of Men's Lacrosse were winners of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award. Samantha Kirk of Women's Cross Country/Track & Field won a Junior Marshals Award.
