GREENSBURG, Pa. - Davis & Elkins fell in dual action to a tough Seton Hill squad, 42-3, on Thursday night inside the McKenna Center.
Seton Hill opened the dual with a pair of decision victories, keyed by some late takedowns in the first two bouts. The Griffins followed it up with a fall and major decision for a 16-0 edge heading into the fourth match of the night.
Clifton Ruggiero battled through an injury timeout with an escape before ultimately dropping the bout by injury default. With time winding down in the first period,
Noah Tarr sprung for a takedown to take a 2-0 lead, the first of the night for Davis & Elkins. Tarr posted a takedown with under 30 seconds remaining to secure the decision win.
Kyle Wojtaszek started fast in his 174-pound bout, taking a 4-3 lead after the opening frame. Brandon Matthews responded by gaining the advantage midway throughout he second before ultimately holding on for the decision.
