ELKINS, W. Va. - Davis & Elkins swimming picked up a pair of convincing victories as the Senators notched wins in all but one event on Friday night inside the Myles Center.
The Davis & Elkins men's team earned a 199-7 win, while the women's squad was also impressive with a 164-39 triumph. It marks the second consecutive dual win for each team after the Senators dispatched of Urbana earlier this season on October 18.
D&E won each of the first 12 events before the Battlers recorded a first-place finish. Casey Hayford, Barbara Bernal, Kaila Howell and Abhigna Anand set the tone with a relay win in the 200 medley in 2:04.12. Individually, Jamie Boulier notched wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:27.34), the 500-yard freestyle (5:35.69) and the 200-yard IM (2:31.18).
Ryan Clement recorded wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:47.26) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:14.50) to lead the charge in the distance events, while Gavin Burnham notched victories in the 100-yard freestyle (56.16) and the 50-yard butterfly (25.18). Carl Eisen recorded the fastest time in the 50-yard breaststroke in 29.12, finishing ahead of Chris Carter (29.17) and Kalvin Spells (29.71).
Barbara Bernal won the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.71) in addition to a victory in the 50-yard fly (25.18). Mia Ellison also had a strong performance with wins in the 200-yard freestyle (2:11.59) and runner-up finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:31.17) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.69).
Jiwh Santos and Vignesh Muley, each previous MEC Swimmers of the Week, combined for four wins individually.
D&E returns to action next weekend, facing Malone in road competition on Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 AM.
