PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Swimming team picked up a double-dual meet Friday night at Alderson Broaddus.
The Senators fell to Malone 133-110, but Davis & Elkins defeated the hosts of Alderson Broaddus 177-45.
Davis & Elkins had three different swimmers earn event victories on the night.
Mia Ellison led the way for the Senators with two victories, while
Jaime Boulier and
Dru Mills also earned a win each.
Ellison started off with a win in the 1000-yard Freestyle (11:17.98), before taking third in the 200-yard Individual Medley. Ellison would then cap off her night with a win in the 500-yard Freestyle (5:33.46).
Boulier had a first, second and third on the night. She started off with a second in the 100-yard Backstroke and then finished third behind Mills in the 200-yard Freestyle. However, Boulier would cap of the night with a win in the 200-yard Backstroke (2:21.55).
Mills finished second in the 200-yard Freestyle and also had a fourth in the 100-yard Butterfly. However, Mills earned a victory in her final event of the night in the 200-yard Individual Medley (2:23.24)
Barbara Bernal and
Eleonora Pierre also had strong nights for the Senators, earn three second-place finishes each.
Bernal took second in the 1000-yard Freestyle, 200-yard Butterfly and the 500-yard Freestyle, while Pierre finished runner-up in the 100-yard Butterfly, 50-yard Freestyle and 100-yard Freestyle.
The Senators will now set their sights on the Corbiere-Merion Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. The two-day meet will take place November 17-18 in Delaware, Ohio.
