Kenya Paiz and
Vitoria Issaho dos Santos closed out their careers at the Myles Pool with three victories each, as they led the way for the Davis & Elkins College Women's Swimming team's 200-19 win over Salem University to close out the 2017-18 regular season on Saturday.
Paiz, a senior out of Valley Center, California, picked up victories in the 200-Yard Butterfly (2:35.91), 200-Yard Breaststroke (2:46.33) and 200-Yard Individual Medley (2:28.67).
Issaho dos Santos, a senior out of Sorocaba, Brazil, had victories in the 1000-Yard Freestyle (11:33.40), 100-Yard Backstroke (1:03.39) and the 200-Yard Backstroke (2:18.28).
The duo also paired together with Jocelyn Humpe and Jamie Boulier to win the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a 2:03.08.
Humpe also picked up three individual victories on the afternoon. The junior picked up victories in the 50-Yard Freestyle (27.66), 100-Yard Freestyle (1:00.99) and 100-Yard Butterfly (1:14.32).
Boulier had two individual victories and a second-place finish in the event. The sophomore had victories in the 200-Yard Freestyle (2:08.31) and the 500-Yard Freestyle (5:36.39). She also finished runner up to Humpe in the 50-Yard Freestyle with a 27.92.
Catharina Delduque earned a win in her debut for the Senators, while also taking a second and a third. The freshman out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was victorious in the 100-Yard Breaststroke, touching the wall with a time of 1:20.01. She took second in the 200-Yard Breaststroke (2:50.24) and third in the 1000-Yard Freesytle (12:08.87).
The Senators earned victories in all 14 of the events in the meet, while also taking 12 second-place finishes.
Davis & Elkins will now set its sights on the G-MAC/MEC Championships set for February 14-17 in Canton, Ohio.
