ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Tennis team clinched a share of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship on Saturday with a 6-3 win over Cedarville.
 
The Senators took a 2-1 lead in doubles play with wins form Laura Fermosel and Elise Simon in No. 1 Doubles and Ester Bolmenas and Kelsey Roby in No. 3 doubles.
 
Fermosel and Simon defeated Lauren Jackson and Kristen Heydt 8-2. Bolmenas and Roby defeated Rosie Thompson and Deanna Whalen 8-1.
 
Fermosel, Bolmenas and Roby earned sweeps of their events on the day as the three also won their singles matches.
 
Haileigh Carper also picked up a win in singles play, defeating Olivia Ancil 6-3, 6-1.
 
Bolmenas earned the quickest win in singles play, defeating Halie Hardwick in No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-3.
 
Fermosel earned a 6-3, 6-3 win No. 1 singles over Jackson. Roby's win in No. 4 singles came with a set victories of 6-4, 6-2 over Heydt.
 
The Senators will return to action on Sunday as Davis & Elkins hosts Kentucky Wesleyan at 10 a.m. at the Thomas Tennis Center.
