HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Tennis team fell to Michigan Tech University 7-2 Monday morning at the Vandermeer Tennis Center.
The Senators fell behind Michigan Tech in doubles action, as the three pairing for Davis & Elkins fell 8-2, 8-1 and 8-2.
However, the Senators would start singles action strong, with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 matches.
Elise Simon had one of the two wins, picking up a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Paola Quintana.
Laura Fermosel also had a victory, going to a third set tiebreaker. Fermosel on 6-1 in the opening set, but fell 6-7 (6-10) to Kwang Suthijindawong to force a third set. Fermosel would win by securing a 10-4 victory in the tiebreaker.
The Senators will be back in action on Tuesday, as the women will face Catawba at 8:30 a.m.
