Box Score ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Lacrosse team fell to Roberts Wesleyan College 13-5 on Thursday night in the Senators season opener at Nuttall Field.
 
Matt O'Dwyer scored a hat trick for the Senators in his debut, as the freshman led the Senators offensively on the night.
 
Jay Baumgardner and Patrick Schneck also scored for the Senators in the game.
 
D&E fell behind early, as the visitors scored a pair of goals in the first six minutes of the game. However, D&E answered late in the first with O'Dwyer's first goal of the contest on an assist from Baumgardner.
 
Roberts Wesleyan took control of the second and third periods, scoring seven goals to go up 9-1.
 
The Senators would respond in the fourth quarter as Baumgardner would pick up his goal on an assist from Zach Cotoni.
 
O'Dwyer would add two more, followed by Schneck's goal. However, Roberts Wesleyan would match D&E goal-for-goal in the fourth quarter.
 
The Senators will return to action on Sunday as D&E hosts Mercyhurst in the G-MAC opener. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
