CALIFORNIA, Pa. - The Davis & Elkins College Men's Swimming Team defeated Fairmont State University 112-88 on the campus of California University of Pennsylvania.
Pedro Gaspar led the way for Davis & Elkins in its win, garnering three first place finishes. Gaspar won the 1000-yard Freestyle (9:53.54), 500-yard Freestyle (4:46.12) and 200-yard Butterfly (1:58.09). Gaspar's times in the 1000 and 500 were both new pool records in Cal (PA).
Parker Giles and
Javier Sanchez both captured first and second place honors. Giles was first in the 100 Freestyle (48.40) and second in the 50 Freestyle (22.19).
Sanchez won the 200-yard Breaststroke event (2:13.43), and just missed first in the 400-yard Individual Medley (4:27.92).
Richard Castan rounded out the top finishers for Davis & Elkins, earning second place in the 1000-yard Freestyle (10:22.80), 200-yard Backstroke (2:04.76) and 500-yard Freestyle (5:04.84).
Davis & Elkins will return to action in the spring to take on West Virginia Wesleyan on Jan. 12 at 6 p.m.
