California, PA – The Senator swimmers competed against Fairmont State and the women's team also faced California University of Pennsylvania. The men lost to the Falcons of Fairmont, 156-92. The women won their contest against FSU, 134-91 but came up short against the Cal U Vulcans 136-104.
Individual event winners included Austin Pillado (500 free, 1000 free), Vitoria Issaho dos Santos ( 200 backstroke), Kenya Paiz (1000 free, 100 backstroke), and Chelsea Faris (200 butterfly).
Austin Pillado also set a new pool record at Hamer Hall with his performance in the 1000 free. This was his best time recorded in the 1000 during the current season.
The Senators will return to action on Friday, January 15th for senior night when they face West Virginia Wesleyan College at home.

"We swam with great strategy this weekend," said Coach Nikki Rose. "We have a lot of work to do in January to ensure that we reach the level of fitness we need going into the Conference Championship. Regardless, I am very pleased for the D&E women that they were able to defeat a conference rival with as much talent as Fairmont."
