Frostburg, MD- Today the Senator Swimmers faced Frostburg State, Gallaudet University, and Hampden-Sydney College (men only). This was a double dual meet for the women and a triple dual meet for the men. The men defeated all three teams, and the women defeated both of their opponents.
D&E Men beat HSC 167-87, they defeated GU 195-49, and fought hard to overcome FSU 148-113.
The D&E women defeated both GU 176-77 and FSU 136-124.
The Senator Swimmers won 14 of 28 events contested today. Relays added big points for the senators with wins from teams of: Autumn Wunderlich, Kayla Huckaby, Chelsea Faris, and Brooke Bielecki in the 200 medley relay and Colton Allen, Chris Swank, Austin Pillado, and Ty Montemoino in the 200 free relay.
Individual "multiple event" winners were: Chelsea Faris (800 free, 100 fly, and 50 fly), Austin Pillado (800 free, 400 free), and Vitoria Santos (400 free, 100IM).
Other contributing wins came from: Aaron Strynar (200 free), Brooke Bielecki (50 back), Ty Montemoino (100 free), Kenya Paiz (100 back), and Zayd Othman (50 fly).
The threesome of Faris, Paiz, and Kendal Williams also had a remarkable contribution today, sweeping the 800 freestyle with a first, second, and third place finish in the race. Swank also teamed with Strynar to go 1-2 in the 200 free, while Wunderlich joined Paiz to go 1-2 in the 100 back.
Senator Perspective: "We had outstanding races today and I am so pleased how every member of the team contributed to this success." stated Head Coach Nikki Rose. "I attribute the win today to the leadership and drive that our Juniors and Seniors have shown in the past two weeks and the training we have done over the past month."
The Senators will be back in action at home on October 30th.
