CALABASH, N.C. — The Davis & Elkins College men's and women's golf teams kicked off their spring season at the Battle at Brunswick, competing against a strong field at the Brunswick Plantation & Golf Club.
The men's team delivered a solid performance, finishing tied for third with Cedarville at +47 for the tournament. Leading the way for the Senators was Lucio Pavicich, who finished second overall with a +3 total after rounds of 75, 71, and 72. Elias Jarn turned in a +14 performance, highlighted by an opening-round 73, finishing tied for 17th. Zak Collins and Aidan Talent both carded +17 to tie for 28th, while Mateo Ferrer rounded out the lineup at +22.
D&E's "B" team finished ninth, with Leonardo Turra leading the squad at +12, placing him tied for 14th. Matthew Crookes followed closely behind at +15, finishing tied for 21st. Samuel Rached, Isaac Gregson, and Connor Cain also contributed to the team's overall performance.
On the women's side, the Senators placed ninth with a +199 total. Marina Saviceva-Noti led D&E with a +35, tying for 17th. Gadea Melgarejo carded a +40, while Grace Bronkella followed at +44. Alexis Herndon rounded out the scoring at +80.
