LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Davis & Elkins College track & field teams turned in a strong showing at the Jack Toms Invitational, hosted by the University of Lynchburg, highlighted by a school-record performance and multiple new NCAA DII top-100 marks.
Leading the charge was Lauren Twyman, who shattered the school record in the Women's 5000m Invite with a blazing time of 17:26.45. Her mark currently ranks as the fastest in the Atlantic Region and the Mountain East Conference (MEC) this season and places her 22nd nationally in NCAA Division II.
The Senators also had an impressive showing in the middle distance and steeplechase events:

Savanna Hardman ran a huge personal best of 4:40.54 in the Women's 1500m Invite, now #34 in DII this season.

Ella Hesson followed with a PR of 4:46.43 (#89 in DII), and Cameryn Wheeler (4:47.56) and Zoe Belshan (4:51.22) also notched personal bests.

In the Women's 800m, Wheeler clocked a season-best 2:20.54, while Hardman, Belshan, and Taytum Walls all posted PRs.

Brooke Jacobs opened her day with a personal best 4:58.02 in the Women's 1500m Open.
On the men's side, Slate Swiger led a deep group in the 800m, clocking a PR 1:54.03, currently #54 in DII, while Jackson Gibson (1:55.38, #99) and Ryan Rasco (1:55.39, #100) weren't far behind.
Rasco also delivered a standout performance in the Men's 1500m Invite, finishing in 3:56.08, a new PR that slots him #54 in DII. Konnor Allison followed with a season-best 4:04.02.
In the 3000m Steeplechase, Allison also claimed a victory in the men's race, crossing the line in 9:42.03, good for #33 in DII this season. On the women's side, Ella Hesson (11:55.06, #62), Sierra Taylor (12:32.12, #97), and Alina Vallentgoed (12:33.29, #98) all posted top-100 DII marks.

Ian Wood placed 5th in the 110m hurdles (15.42) and added a 10th-place finish in the 400m hurdles (59.58).

Andrew Bowen (15:32.10) and Gabe Conder (15:48.95) ran solid efforts in the Men's 5000m Invite.
