ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Athletics Department posted a combined GPA of 3.32 across its 22 intercollegiate programs for the 2024 spring semester. Eight teams recorded a 3.50 GPA or higher.
 
The women's swimming team led the way with a 3.81 GPA, with the men's tennis team just behind recording a 3.72 GPA in the spring semester. The other six teams averaging over a 3.50 were men's golf, softball, women's soccer, women's cross country, women's tennis, and women's volleyball. In all, 19 of 22 Senators athletics teams achieved a 3.00 or higher.
 
"Our athletics program is built on excellence in four pillars – education, engagement, competition, and character," said Interim Director of Athletics, Jeff Eisen.  "At this point in the year, even more emphasis than usual is placed on education, as we watched more than 50 student-athletes walk across the stage at graduation this past weekend. Further evidence of the hard work that our student-athletes put into the classroom is their outstanding spring semester grades. We take great pride in the academic achievements of our student-athletes."
